We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for volunteers.
Samaritans is entirely
dependent on voluntary support. It's a challenging experience
and it can be
very rewarding, knowing that you may have made a difference.
We run training sessions twice a year, but welcome applications from new
volunteers at any time.

What
training would I get?
We will ensure you are fully prepared for your role as a Samaritans
volunteer. You will attend a series of about 7 preparation sessions
within a group and learn about active listening and different types of
calls by taking part in skills practice exercises and group
discussion.
What
commitment would I need to give?
The hours of shifts vary from branch to branch. At the Weybridge
branch you will be asked to do 1 shift of 3 to 4 hours a week with 1overnight shift a month.
